POTTER PLUMBING AND A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Screen Shot 2015-04-30 at 4.01.48 PMIt’s never too late to make the necessary changes to preserve our idyllic lifestyle on the Central Coast. Potter Plumbing is keenly aware of the water issues in San Luis Obispo County. Based in Cambria, we too face water shortages, fears of drought, and a loss of our resources. That’s why we are committed to Conscious Conservation. We assist our customers by staying in touch with the latest technology such as gray water installation and other ideas that help them conserve our most cherished commodity…water. We help you save water, which saves you money, which can ultimately save our planet. Let us help you “Go Green.”

It’s about conservation! Water and the imminent drought. We are offering the solutions and calling for change in our water management from our government.

Conservation

It’s important that we become conscious of our water usage. The average American uses between 140 to 170 gallons of water per day with landscaping accounting for almost half of that figure. By making simple adjustments in our household chores, we can save hundreds of dollars on our water bills and do our part to preserve this natural resource. A person can survive about a month without food, but only 5 to 7 days without water and seeing that less than 2% of the earth?s water supply is fresh, our awareness is vital to its protection. Start with small changes. Take shorter showers, turn off the water while you are brushing your teeth, only run the dishwasher when it’s full, and sweep sidewalks and driveways rather than hosing them off. You’ll notice the difference on your water and sewer bill and you?ll aid in the preservation of our future water supply.

A Green Future

It is up to all of us to make conscious choices to improve our way of life. And we can start with our own homes. Take in your environment, make a mental inventory. What can you do to make your home more environmentally friendly? Where can you cut down your water consumption? Potter Pluming can show you how your future can be a lot greener. If you’d like to read more about conservation and what you can do to protect our future resources,

Be Waterwise

Here on the Central Coast, water conservation is at the top of our priority list. Water is a precious resource in our area and there are many ways you can save water in your home. Did you know you can conserve almost 3 gallons a day, just by turning off the water while you brush your teeth? And you can save hundreds of gallons by repairing leaky faucets, appliances and sprinklers. Being water-wise is a giant step in your sustainable future.

Innovative Technologies

Several manufacturers have begun developing products to help you in water conservation throughout your home. From smarter shower heads, auto-tap faucets and low-flow toilets, to gadgets that monitor your pipes for leaks, these companies understand the need to preserve our future. There’s even new technology being developed to improve rainwater cisterns for those in our area that collect rainwater for irrigation. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how far the technology has evolved.
